Design Optimization: We evaluate your artwork to ensure every detail—from fine lines to vibrant gradients—is perfectly prepared for the DTF process. Because DTF doesn't require color separation like screen printing, we can maintain the full integrity of your original digital design.

Digital Film Printing: Your design is printed onto a specialized PET film using high-quality aqueous inks. Unlike traditional methods, we print the entire color spectrum simultaneously, allowing for photorealistic imagery and unlimited colors without the need for multiple screens.

Adhesive Application: While the ink is wet, a unique TPU adhesive powder is applied to the film. This serves as the "bridge" between the ink and the fabric, ensuring a flexible, durable bond that won't crack or peel, even on stretchy performance wear.

Heat Press Transfer: Using precision heat and pressure, the design is fused directly into the fibers of your garment. This process works beautifully on almost any material—cotton, polyester, nylon, or blends—resulting in a soft-hand finish that stays bright and bold wash after wash.

Direct to Film (DTF) transfers are celebrated for their vibrant colors and impressive stretch, but because the design is a thin layer of adhesive and ink bonded to the surface, they require specific care to prevent peeling or "marrying" (sticking to itself).

Here is how to keep your DTF-printed apparel looking fresh for years.

Washing: Protect the Bond

Prep: Always turn the garment inside out. This protects the film’s surface from abrasive contact with zippers, buttons, and the washing machine drum.

Settings: Use cold water only. DTF adhesive is heat-activated; washing in hot water can re-soften the bond, leading to premature peeling or edge lifting.

Detergent: Stick to mild detergents. Strictly avoid bleach and especially fabric softeners. Softeners contain chemicals that can break down the synthetic adhesive layer between the film and the fabric.

Drying: Low and Slow

Best Practice: Hang dry or lay flat. Air drying is the gold standard for DTF. It prevents the film from becoming brittle and avoids the mechanical stress of a spinning dryer.

Machine: If a dryer is necessary, use the tumble dry low or "air fluff" setting. DTF prints are flexible, but extreme heat can cause the film to warp or shrink at a different rate than the fabric, leading to puckering.

Pro Tip: Never "over-dry." Remove the shirt while it’s still a tiny bit damp to keep the transfer supple.

Ironing: The "No-Zone"

Direct Heat: Never touch a hot iron to the DTF print. Unlike screen print ink which might just smudge, DTF film will melt and stick to your iron's plate instantly, ruining both the shirt and the appliance.

Method: If the garment is wrinkled, iron it inside out on a low setting. If you must iron the front side, you must use a sheet of parchment paper (not wax paper) over the design to act as a heat shield.

Storage: Avoid the "Stick"

Environment: Store in a cool, dry place. High humidity can occasionally make the specialty inks feel slightly "tacky."

Folding: Avoid folding the garment directly through the center of the design. Over time, heavy weight or heat in a drawer can cause the print to "self-adhere" if folded face-to-face. Hanging is the best way to maintain the integrity of large DTF transfers.
